I managed to successfully run the original sisimedia driver (http://www.linuxconsulting.ro/xorg-drivers/) modified for Xorg 13, maintained now by Mandriva developers and Arch Linux developers. Here's the package page from Arch Linux: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?name=xf86-video-sisimedia If you need the initial source code, just look into PKGBUILD file, it has all the info including tarball, patch order and building. Maybe this can be adopted to Ubuntu?
