You have been subscribed to a public bug:

If you have a two monitors (not cloned ones) with different resolution, there 
is sometines an unreachable area of the desktop. This is not a problem but the 
mouse can't go on this virtual area.
But sometimes the new files or folder are placed in this virtual screen area, 
so you cannot access them with the mouse to click on them or to drag and drop 
them.
The files or folder are there as it can be checked through the working space 
switcher. As shown on the attachment, which is the best way to understand the 
bug.
