On my good old Dell Inspirion 9300 I use dual boot with Windows XP and ubuntu 12.04.1. LTS 32 Bit RAM: 2.0 GiB Intel Pentium M processor 1.73GHz Graphic: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RV370
I don't use Chrome, only Firefox. My proposal to analyze the bug is that some guru provides a program which can be run as a background process on computers with the freeze problem. The program should - first write a header with the purpose of the file, the email address of the assigned developer and with all relevant system information (hardware and software) - then log all events of starting / closing of any program directly into a file (e.g. bug993187.log) - delete the log file when the program is normally terminated (shut-down) When the system freezed, the bug993187.log file should be sent to the developer which is assigned to the bug. This developer can then import the information of the files (e.g. in XML format) into a database for analysis. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
