@Martin, I'm using 3.6.3-030603-generic. I just recently upgraded. I also update nvidia driver to ver 3.04.64
My system dual boots with Win7 which works just fine in Win7.. Martin, I notice you're using kernel 3.5.0-18-generic. Since I'm using kernel version higher than yours, would you suggest I downgrade to that version? Kinda skeptical though. I've tried 3.3.6, also 3.4.x which didn't help either. But i've never tried 3.5.x Can anybody else confirm that kernel 3.5.0-18 solves the problem? Or doesn't solve it. Please do report.
