Wayland does not work with proprietary drivers and is not expected to
any time soon. Supported hardware and drivers are covered at the top
of: http://wayland.freedesktop.org/building.html
For nvidia, you should be able to get this to work with the nouveau
drivers (disabling the proprietary drivers in jockey ("additional
drivers") will do this). Or radeon for AMD/ATI hardware instead of
fglrx/catalyst. Intel also works.
