  I use Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (use cpu for video no video card on
system)
  Asrock z77 Extrme 4 - M Motherboard
Corsair 16 GB RAM 1600 Mhz
520 Intel SSD for Home directory and Root, 2GB Swap and EFI partition ( there
is a 1Mb partition for Bios Grub that is not recognized)
Western Digital 2 TB Hard Drive --Storage
Seasonic 560 W Xseries Power Supply
  LG DVD Burner

Previously I had cinnamon DE installed and that is when I got the system
freezes. I went into Gnome Classic until the matter is resolved but I
still get periodic system errors (not freezes) where the screen distorts
a little (ie tabs on firefox blur and double). When this happens I get a
pop up asking me if I want to report the error which I do. I would
really like to go back to Cinnamon 1.4 if that isn't the source of the
  problem
