The script runs stable on 3.3-rc1, hangs almost immediately on 3.2.20. But I'm seeing a hang with 3.3.x as well, so these are two separate issues but we can track them both here..
So we need to bisect this hang from v3.2->v3.3-rc1, and the other one v3.3->v3.4-rc1.. fun!
