I can confirm what James says above. Versions up through ubuntu4 work fine, but the latest version (ubuntu5) produces the behavior described in the bug and the comments. There is a noticeable difference in the coasting speed between the two versions, which suggests that this patch may be the culprit, as it's an obvious change from ubuntu4.
