Hi fnu, I notice you use a xorg.conf to customize the X behavior. Would you mind testing with no xorg.conf to see if you can reproduce it then? That would help rule out whether one of the freeze is related to one of the customizations.
Also, please collect your /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state file, which should be captured while the machine is locked up (e.g. by sshing into the sick machine over ethernet). See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze for additional info. This data provides diagnostics to help the upstream engineers figure out why it's freezing. ** Summary changed: - [sandybridge-gt1] GPU lockup + [sandybridge-gt1] GPU lockup with Composite disabled ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902787 Title: [sandybridge-gt1] GPU lockup with Composite disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/902787/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
