I face the same problem with Oneiric. I have been customizing my keyboard layout in Ubuntu for years (a french typing on US layout...), and since Oneiric, my keyboard layout is lost at every reboot. Curiously, if I remove it and add it again in Keyboard layout settings, it is loaded well.
I just add key maps lines in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us (the same lines for years) in alt-intl section. And it is well referenced in /etc/default/keyboard : XKBLAYOUT="us" XKBVARIANT="alt-intl" I would love to at least have a command to remove/add the keyboard layout so that it gets reloaded at startup automatically :) Thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290226 Title: unable to switch keyboard layouts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xkeyboard-config/+bug/290226/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
