Hi. I report the exact same problem described by Hubert. I have a Dell L501x with Nvidia 435m. I'm using nvidia-current 275.19-0ubuntu1~natty~xup1 from x-updates.
One fix for this problem is to disable RandR in xorg.conf (Adding Option "RandR" "0"), but this is inconvenient for several reasons.
