It seems the fix caused a regression on some trackpads. The trackpad on my Dell Vostro V13 is basically unusable because horizontal sensitivity is about 3 times higher than horizontal sensitivity (the opposite of the OP's situation). It is like that on 11.04 and current 11.10 alpha.
