Hello all, I have exactly same issue with my T400 ( I am using the 4500MHD
video driver though )
the thing dies when I use opengl for rendering in kwin. If I use xrender it
works well. It doesn't have anything in the log file. One thing though, with
the 2.8.0 intel driver the system would still allow me to go to terminal window
where I can restart X. With previous intel driver 2.7.901.99-r1 ? it would
simply hang all the X so that nothing works expect for power button, to which
linux would shut itself down _PROPERLY_.
And this is running gentoo with xorg-server-1.6.1-r1 & xf86-video-
intel-2.8.0 from portage, libdrm, dri2proto, mesa from the git (
bleeding edge ?)...
so, interested as well with what is going on, as I want to use opengl
because it is noticeably faster than the xrender. Just in case here is
