hi, just updated my system. xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.3.99+git20110116ubuntu11 was replaced with xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.3.99+git20110116ubuntu12.
touchpad - behavior did not change. changing AreaLeftEdge from 0 to 2000 JumpyCursorThreshold from 0 to 50 made it possible to select text.
