Bryce, I have file bug #761236. To file the bug report I did the following:
1. Connected to my x201 through remote desktop. 2. Launched gnome-display-properties and enabled output through VGA1: WORKING 3. Disabled LVDS: ERROR showed as previously discussed (flickering) 4.
