Bryce, this is more than a minor annoyance. If I need to switch to a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F2) because my X has locked up, it is almost impossible to login because when you enter your password there is no way to tell if a key has been repeated and so I keep entering invalid passwords.
Should I be raising my issue as a different bug as this is too general?
