If any extra experiments are needed - I'm still watching this thread. I am currently using xubuntu 10.04 on dell L2100 with IDEACOM IDC 6680 I can't risk loosing the system, so I won't be able to do risky updates at the moment, but I'm working on it. (I have to do separate partitions first)
