I've posted on this before. I was getting black screen freezes first on ubuntu, then on pclinuxos. Sometimes stable for up to a day - sometimes crashed 3/4 times in a day. The issue appears to be finally resolved - I just installed new Debian release "squeeze" a couple of days back. No crashsince. Seems debian is living up to it's "rock solid" reputation so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ... but so far so good.
