Yes problem still exists, and the Ubuntu 6.06 /etc/X11/xorg.conf file still is needed to fix it. Guess the age of the laptop makes it of minimal interest as it can be worked around. Note the fan does work but at much reduced level so it gets pretty hot! Regards
