I have this too. I have a fresh install of Jaunty on an Acer Aspire 7520 (AMD Athlon 64, Geforce 7000m, 64 bit). Because of problems with previous drivers, I just downloaded and installed the proprietary Nvidia driver from their website (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-180.06). The black bars don't appear very frequently, but they are noticeable.
