Ok, I've made a little test, is not an intel driver problem it's a KDM problem. Ubuntu live starts while kubuntu doesn't, and, as you may view from my previous post kde starts if i run 'startx' from the console. So It is not an intel driver problem, but some issue between my hw configuration and kdm. Let me know if there are logfiles that can be used by you for further investigations. Bye K.
