I have the exact same error. I can get a shell up by booting into recovery mode.
When I try to go to a virtual terminal not in recovery mode, logging in does nothing. I enter my username and password, and it shows me the login prompt again. I tried removing gdm and xserver-xorg, and rebooting, but I get the terminal problem even without gdm starting up. Right now I can get a shell open in recovery mode, but I have no way of getting it to do anything else otherwise. I really would appreciate some help. -- X Server is already running on Display 0: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
