I've just seen another hang, where I wasn't running compiz. I didn't get the blocked task in dmesg, but otherwise the symptoms were similar. This happened after an hour or so of work in the morning, after dismissing a full-screen totem session (which I'd accidentally left running overnight when I meant to suspend).
