I also have this problem, when using 2 different USB and wireless keyboard/mouse. I confirmed that it's under 64 bits (didn't test on 32 bits). Problem on both Ubuntu Jaunty and Debian Sid. Also, plug them on PS/2 workaround the problem. But when there is only USB ...
I tried to debug it with evtest program, but nothing anormal appear when the freeze happen (no different output). Also, no log seems to be usefull (dmesg, Xorg.log etc ... didn't show anormal output).
