Strange. I downloaded alpha-2 from there to check if it would work on my computer, and it worked just fine (X61 Tablet and SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 1.0 GB USB stick). Probably some unrelated bug, but I'm not sure which package. We should probably check if this is a known bug and otherwise file a bug report.
