** Description changed: I've just installed Ubuntu 9.04 and it keeps telling me that there is already an xserver running at console 0. As I am a far cry from being a Linux expert, may I refer you to the logfile that comes attached with this report. Further point: I installed the NVIDIA proprietary graphics driver but when I do succeed getting to the Gnome desktop (don't ask me how I did) that the NVIDIA driver is not running.
