Hi,

I have a
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS690 [Radeon X1200
Series]

graphics card, but can't find a driver with sufficient support in
jaunty.

fglrx denies service because it does not support this card

radeonhd works but slow. It's good for regular work but when trying to
display videos there are too many dropped frames.

ATI seems to have put their driver into a 'legacy driver':
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/legacy/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.7&lang=English

Maybe ubuntu could adopt this?

regards
