My comment on 2009-05-13 is incorrect. The screen garbage appears after invoking "nautilus-open-terminal" on screen 2 of 2.
This is repeatable. Right clicking on screen 2 of 2 opens the context menu. Selecting "Open in terminal" will open the terminal window. After this, the artifacts will appear on both screens when resizing windows.
