I believe I've encountered this bug as well, though not on logout. In my case, I think it may have to do with a keyboard I am using, since it only began when I switched to my present one. I am using the intel graphics card though, so it could be related to that. Not sure, but my X does crash, and I do have this error with the latest jaunty code.
