I have the same problem. I am able to have a dual screen with ubuntu 9.04 on a latitude E5400 but in xubuntu the display manager displays only one screen. My machine runs this kernel 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
