This is a most useful piece of software for, as it's title suggests, making and printing a good range of labels. I would like to use it to make some inserts for DVD cases but, while it has the template to produce labels for DVDs, there is no template for inserts.
In the help file there are instructions for making your own labels but I do not understand the procedures. I have tried but I must be too thick or my brain is not quite as agile as it was 70 years ago. The template I would like is for the Avery product J8437 and although templates are available for all the Avery products, free of charge, they will only work well with windows. It is possible to load them into OpenOffice but there it seems to be three separate tables and very awkward to use. The real frustrating bit is that Avery will supply software to handle their templates, also free of charge, which will only work with windows. I have tried running it with Wine with only partial satisfaction. Well, that's the preamble and now for the real stuff. What I am looking for is some clever person who would be prepared to help a fellow Ubuntu user and put into plain language what I need to do to make and install a template for the insert, please. I feel I am being very cheeky by asking for help but all my other efforts have met with failure.
