this is a bug in firefox. its not specific to ubuntu. it happens on mac
and windows too.

whats happening is the flash app is intercepting the keyboard strokes,
so if you press ctrl+w when youre interacting with a flash applet, the
keyboard command will be sent to the flash applet, but not firefox.

i went on my mac to see if this happens in safari, and safari closes the
tab even if flash content is selected. apparently, soneone better let
the mozilla people know about this, because they're the ones who are
supposed to fix this, not ubuntu.
