I think it was Dapper Drake I was using with that card. Since I gave away the chassis of the computer I was testing this in, I may have some trouble finding another to test in. I'll see what I can do. The same problem happens with the live CD. BTW, this is an off-brand graphics card with an ATI chip in it.
It occurs to me that perhaps the best thing for me to do here is to just donate the card to someone who can make better use of it.
