Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mysql-server-5.0

Currently mysql-server has no password for mysql root user and it requires to
set this password manually from CLI.
This is confusing for most newbie users.
Mysql-server package should have gui that could set password for mysql-server
root user during installation and after installation with dpkg-reconfigure.

** Affects: mysql-dfsg-5.0 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
