Michael Vogt: if you want I can give you a hand with this. We could do what we already do with nvidia-common and change the driver in the xorg.conf (maybe with X-Kit) according to what the modalias files say. This should be done for the fglrx driver and for 2 nvidia drivers (71 and 96).
