thank you for your reply, I have resoved this issue with the following :
In a terminal: Code: /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and add these two lines to the end of the file... blacklist padlock_aes blacklist geode_aes This seemed to resolve the issue with the sound issue, startup time issue and a wireless network issue, However I am keen to try your solution without the need for the work around, I am willing to upgrade to the Alpha5 of Intrepid Ibex 8.10 to try the solution as below, however I am running Kubuntu and connot find details of how to upgrade from hardy. I understand that if I was running ubuntu I could run "press Alt+F2 and type in "update-manager -d" but my question is what is the kubuntu equivalent?
