Hi Leann, I am experiencing the same problem with my Edirol UA-25 sound card in Ubuntu 8.04 Heron, and can confirm that it indeed works somewhat in Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy (Live CD - Advanced switch set to off) after selecting USB Audio under Sound Preferences.
I am willing to install and test the 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel - is there an easy way to install the linux-image-2.6.27-* package?
