1)  This did not happen on Hardy and it does not happen on Windows Vista.  I
am pretty sure it is supposed to be constantly lit when connected.  It would
make more sense if it flashed more when there is more data transmitted, but
it flashes at a pretty constant ~4Hz always.

2) The output of lspci -nnvv and uname -a are attached.
