I installed packagekit to test things out. For starters, the file /usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/apt/get-updates.py does not exist! The contents of /usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/apt are: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 16K 2008-03-09 15:55 aptBackend.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 552 2008-03-09 15:55 get-description.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 521 2008-03-09 15:55 refresh-cache.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 589 2008-03-09 15:55 search-details.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 586 2008-03-09 15:55 search-file.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 587 2008-03-09 15:55 search-group.py* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 586 2008-03-09 15:55 search-name.py* -rw-r--r-- 1 root 18K 2008-08-30 09:42 aptBackend.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 370 2008-08-30 09:42 get-description.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 336 2008-08-30 09:42 refresh-cache.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 406 2008-08-30 09:42 search-details.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 400 2008-08-30 09:42 search-file.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 402 2008-08-30 09:42 search-group.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root 400 2008-08-30 09:42 search-name.pyc
This might have to do with the fact that hardy includes packagekit 0.1.6 (interpid will include 0.2.4), while the latest version is 0.3.1 (2008-08-27). I will install from source and tell you if the issue is resolved. If it is, we should change the bug description to "upgrade packagekit to 0.3.1", if not I will file the bug upstream... -- i installed packagekit and i get this error each time i reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262086 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
