To Brian: I downloaded the Alpha CD and I used it as a Live CD. I do not have enough drive space to regular installation. I found several bugs, reported just two of them. Igot an response that with the logs it does it is useless. I am not sure how to use debug versions of the software on live cd - expecially if it fails on startup. I did not even get to testing the video driver for old ati cards.
However - back to topic: I experienced the spontaneous restart of xserver again. With the updated driver i mentioned sooner. Now i can attach all the logs that are in /var/log about Xorg. I do not see there anything significant, maybe someone could see more. It happened on high load of CPU (playing video on one screen + browsing firefox with few tabs (<10) - i do not have flash pugin, however the sites have animated gifs). ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17094023/Xorg.0.log ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log.old" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17094024/Xorg.0.log.old ** Attachment added: "Xorg.10.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17094025/Xorg.10.log ** Attachment added: "Xorg.10.log.old" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17094026/Xorg.10.log.old -- Xserver crashes/restarts ati+xv+xrandr https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
