I installed fglrx through ati installer. I got some deb package (you
know what I mean).

/var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log:
(many boring lines)...

2006-10-28 11:59:28,975 ERROR got an error from dpkg for pkg: 'xorg-driver-fglrx
': 'subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 2
'
2006-10-28 12:02:04,760 ERROR SystemError from cache.commit(): installArchives()
 failed

I finally closed my upgrade, adding some comment mark to
/var/lib/dpkg/diversion:

#/usr/lib/libGL.so.1
#/usr/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.xlibmesa
#xorg-driver-fglrx
#/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2
#/usr/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa
#xorg-driver-fglrx
#/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1
#/usr/X11R6/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.xlibmesa
#xorg-driver-fglrx
#/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2
#/usr/X11R6/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa
#xorg-driver-fglrx

Then I removed manually xorg-driver-fglrx and I used synaptic.
