Rocketero, The bug report you've followed up to is about NFS mounts, not CIFS mounts; your problem is unrelated to this bug report. Please file a new report against the samba package, or alternatively, you might try asking for help in the ubuntu forums since I'm sure that CIFS in Ubuntu 8.04 is generally working as expected (having extensively tested it myself).
