Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I have searched and read the various reported bugs on this issue, but all seem not to be describing the issue I am experiencing with FF 3. I am running Ubuntu 8.04, please find below the outcome of uname -a: Linux dell-ubuntu 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 23:41:49 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Please find also below the (partial) outcome of aptitude show firefox-3.0: Package: firefox-3.0 State: installed Automatically installed: yes Version: 3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3 Priority: optional Section: web Maintainer: Alexander Sack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Uncompressed Size: 3645k Depends: debianutils (>= 1.16), fontconfig, libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.20.0), libc6 (>= 2.4), libcairo2 (>= 1.6.0), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1-21), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0), libnspr4-0d (>= 1.8.0.10), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.20.1), libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1-21), psmisc, xulrunner-1.9 (>= 1.9.0.1) Recommends: ubufox Suggests: firefox-3.0-gnome-support (= 3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3), latex-xft-fonts, libthai0 Conflicts: firefox (< 3), firefox-granparadiso (< 3.0~alpha8-0), firefox-libthai, firefox-trunk (< 3.0~a8~cvs20070914t1713-0) Replaces: firefox (< 3), firefox-granparadiso, firefox-libthai, firefox-trunk Provides: firefox-libthai, www-browser Since about a week I have been experiencing sudden crashing of FF3 which -- AFAIK -- is not related to flash or any other plugin, see also my thread on this issue: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=887668 If I run FF from a browser the only error message I am receiving is: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ firefox Segmentation fault Which unfortunately is very little to go on. I have tried removing and (re)installing FF, removing the .mozilla directory and starting over. Both did not provide a solution. Please find attached the result of running strace on FF. When I ran strace, I went to UF, opened my User CP, went to the first subscribed thread, scrolled down ... crash. The command I used for strace is: strace -to <filename>.txt firefox The extensions (add-ons) I have installed are: Adblock Plus, Adblock Filterset.G Updater, Answers, Ctrl-Tab, StumbleUpon, Ubuntu Firefox Modifications, Zimbra DnD If more information is required, please let me know. ** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- firefox 3 crashes with segmentation fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260374 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
