Spoke too soon. After submitting this bug report, I tried switching to text mode and I only saw a blinking cursor - Alt+F1, Alt+F2, ... didn't show the console login. Then, I tried switching back to X, and I couldn't - it only displayed the mouse, which responded, but no display. Infact, after this point, I had to hard-reset the machine as it stopped responding.
Next boot onwards, I am not getting X even with vga=771. As suggested in the X/Debugging document, I disabled DRI, Composite and AIGLX in xorg.conf. This hasn't resolved the issue. So, I am left with no X. I am only able to use this machine in single-user mode. In single-user mode, if I run 'X' to test, it displays the screen alright, but the mouse stops responding. Keyboard still responds (caps- lock), but I cannot kill the X with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. I'll be forced to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot. - Naveen -- [Intrepid Alpha4] No display on Lenovo Thinkcentre A59 with Intel Q35 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
