Binary package hint: gnome
If the resolution of the display is reduced to 640x480 (or lower,
presumably), which can occur when a game such as TuxTyping grabs the
screen but fails to reset the resolution on exit, the "Monitor
Resolution Settings" dialog no longer fits vertically on the screen and
the button to apply changes cannot be clicked.
The small issue is the resolution change dialog itself; the larger issue
is the way gnome handles dialogs whose "minium size" (or whatever the
GTK parameter is called) is larger than the desktop/screen resolution.
Workarounds: Keyboard navigation can be used to trigger the button; the
resolution can be changed from the command line.
Potential Fixes: The dialog could be revised to fit on a smaller screen
(fixes _this_ issue,but not the broader exceptional case of a dialog)
Found On: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, clean install, then fully updated
