You probably won't believe this. In working up a test file just now, I discovered that the problem now does not occur with "emacs -q". I believe I tested this before submitting the bug yesterday and "emacs -q" also had the problem. Now it doesn't. (I rebooted my machine this afternoon.)
So, now the problem is limited to my .emacs file. This simple file system action made the problem go away: $ mv .emacs dot-emacs; cp dot-emacs .emacs And this action made the problem return: $ mv dot-emacs .emacs So, for now, I can make the problem go away. And, clearly, it's not going to be possible for you to discover what's wrong from this information. So, for now, please close the bug. -- al -- gnu emacs (X version) not updating display properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
