Both broken repositories - the main canonical one and the local Swiss
one - seem to work again, but only after I selected one of them over
System -> Systemverwaltung -> Software-Quellen. Maybe it had something
to do with me always manually editing the file /etc/apt/sources.list.
BUT, I have always done this and it always worked before. In addition,
comparing the "generated" sources.list with my manually edited
sources.list shows no difference whatsoever. Very strange!! Just for
completeness here the sources.list generated by my "Software-Quellen":
