VirtualBox 1.6.4 and Interpid Alpha 4 _works_ for me w/o VT-x/AMD-V support. My processor (Athlon 64 3800+) has no virtualization support. It occasionally crashes (I noticed it once), but generally it seems stable after boot sequence. I have enabled SATA controler, and support for PAE/NX.
