After returning two junk desktops by Gateway and HP, I built a new rig to run Linux...Ubuntu as my primary choice. Anyway, I tried installing Hardy and the desktop CD for Ibex Alpha 4. Hardy froze up with a busybox error while Ibex gave me this one: [ 2.422795] uvesafb: Getting VBE info block failed (eax=0x4f00, err=-3) [ 2.422795] uvesafb: vbe_init() failed with -22 [ 2.422795] uvesafb: probe of uvesafb.0 failed with error -22 As a last ditch effort, I downloaded and installed from the alternate CD. Somehow, the installation completed and now I can graphically start up my new system. However, I can still see the error when I boot up. What effect did installing from the alternate CD vice live cd have on getting around this messy problem? I'm not a Linux guru, but will provide whatever feedback needed to get this and other bugs fixed. Thanks.
