Public bug reported: I cannot boot into 2.6.26-5 generic in up to date intrepid alpha4. The boot ends with a brief flash of text referring to "vbe module" (or something similar) and goes into kernel panic. The recovery kernel boots successfully.
This is a regression associated with a recent kernel update and has been confirmed by others in the ubuntu forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=863406&page=5 uname -a Linux m1330 2.6.26-5-generic #1 SMP Fri Aug 15 13:54:22 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux Release: 8.10 I can no longer boot into 2.6.26-5 generic in update intrepid alpha4.
